About Mike Martin

Mike started his Indirect Tax career with the Florida Department of Revenue in 1992 where he conducted routine sales and use tax compliance audits in the Miami area. Mike transitioned into consulting in 1996 taking a position with KPMG-Miami where his primary focus was on the healthcare industry. Mike moved to the Birmingham, AL area in 1998 when his primary client, HealthSouth Corporation, offered him an in-house position as a Sales & Use Tax Supervisor. He was quickly promoted to Vice President – Tax over Indirect Taxes. In 2007, after HealthSouth sold two large divisions, Mike left to begin his own consulting company Sales Tax Solutions, LLC and then later Martin & Campbell Tax Advisors, LLC where he assisted mainly manufacturing clients in the southeast with sales and use tax recovery projects, obsolescence studies, and business personal property tax (“BPP”) refund projects. Mike is a published author, having written a healthcare chapter for the Institute for Professionals in Taxation’s Sales & Use Taxation 1^st Edition.  Mike resides in Thorsby, AL with his wife and three dogs. He enjoys weight lifting and University of Florida Gator Football.
